Knox County Imagination Library Fund
In 1996, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee. Dolly wanted to foster a love of reading among her county's preschool children and their families. The program has expanded into Knox County. Imagination Library mails one new, age appropriate book each month to any Knox County child from birth until age five at no cost to the family. Access to books is one of the best predictors of school success. Research shows that children participating in Imagination Library perform better in school. www.knoxreads.com
