TRUDY HUGHES, VICE PRESIDENT FOR REGIONAL ADVANCEMENT
Trudy’s background in social service and program development and her past experience as the Executive Director of New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center in Blount County have paved the way for her role as ETF’s Vice President for Regional Advancement. Trudy is responsible for overseeing the Foundation's impact investing initiative, regional development and grantmaking. To do so, she works closely with the Foundation’s many regional affiliates to build grassroots philanthropy.
TAMARA BOYER, GENERAL COUNSEL + VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT
Tamara joins ETF after 26 years of experience in the finance industry as a corporate attorney, business executive, and wealth manager. She is a native of Sarasota, Florida and received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University and went on to earn her law degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law. Since moving to Knoxville shortly after graduation, she has been actively involved in East Tennessee's volunteer community. Currently she serves as Chair-Elect Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians, Junior Achievement executive board, Webb School of Knoxville board of trustees, and is a Leadership Knoxville Class of 2016 graduate.
SUSAN BLAIR, BOARD LIAISON
Susan serves as the primary administrative support for the Foundation’s Board of Directors and also provides support to the staff. Susan is a University of Tennessee Knoxville graduate and has a master's degree in National Security Affairs. Prior to joining the ETF staff, Susan completed a distinguished military career, retiring as a Lt. Colonel, and worked in banking. She has also volunteered extensively with Alzheimer's Tennessee.
SUNNY BIDEN, THE PAT SUMMITT FOUNDATION, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
Sunny provides public relations and development support for the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund in the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease. Sunny has a wealth of experience in event coordination, communications, fundraising, and working with volunteers. Prior to joining the Pat Summitt Foundation team, Sunny worked for the Alzheimer's Association East Tennessee Chapter.
PRECY STURGEON, FINANCIAL + ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Precy plays a vital role in the financial operation of the Foundation including processing grant payments and accounts payable, reconciling and balancing bank statements and investment pool accounts, maintaining records on contributions and donors, managing supply orders. As a member of the finance team, she works with them on the audit, tax returns, and other report preparation.
PATRICK WADE, THE PAT SUMMITT FOUNDATION, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Patrick oversees all operations of the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund and directs its advancement initiatives and donor services. Prior to joining the ETF team, Patrick worked in advancement at the University of Tennessee.
Misty Parker, Fundholder Relationship Associate
Misty provides support to the General Counsel + Vice President for Advancement and manages the daily operations of the Foundation’s numerous donor advised funds. Misty completes the due diligence required for donor advised grants, processes grant recommendations, and serves as a resource for donor and grantee inquiries. Additionally, she provides administrative support and oversite of many special events held by Foundation funds. She comes to the Foundation from the Junior League of Knoxville where she served as the Membership and Operations Director. She has experience working with volunteers who are passionate about making the community a better place to live. Misty has served on many boards including the Blount County American Red Cross and the Patient Advocacy Board of Dialysis Clinic, Inc. She is a graduate of Leadership Blount.
MICHAEL MCCLAMROCH, PRESIDENT + CEO
A Knoxville native, Mike has been East Tennessee Foundation’s chief executive since 2001. With his constant emphasis on excellent stewardship of the resources entrusted to the Foundation and on top-notch constituent services, Mike has overseen dramatic growth in the asset size and grantmaking of ETF. Prior to leading ETF, Mike practiced law with the firm of Egerton, McAfee, Armistead & Davis and was an active volunteer with a variety of charitable organizations in the Knoxville area.
JULIE BRASFIELD, FUNDHOLDER RELATIONSHIP ASSOCIATE
Julie provides support to the General Counsel + Vice President for Advancement and manages the daily operations of the Foundation’s numerous donor advised funds. Julie completes the due diligence required for donor advised grants, processes grant recommendations and serves as a resource for donor and grantee inquiries. Additionally, she provides administrative support and oversight of the many special events held by Foundation funds.
JOHN JOHNSON, DIRECTOR OF FINANCE + ADMINISTRATION
John is a member of the Finance & Administrative team and produces all fund reports to fundholders and is a resource for them in their fund administration. John also assists with preparation for the annual audit, tax reporting, charitable solicitation registration, and many other finance related functions of the Foundation. John also provides technology oversight and support for the Foundation. John has a B.S. in Accounting from Presbyterian College and has both professional and volunteer accounting experience, having served as the accounting manager for a privately held business and the treasurer of his church.
JESSICA RENFRO, FINANCIAL + ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Jessica is primarily responsible for processing and acknowledging the many generous gifts that ETF receives. She also maintains and updates our extensive database of donors and grantees. As a member of the finance team, she supports the preparation of our annual audit, federal tax returns, and other required reporting. Prior to joining ETF, Jessica worked at a startup company and volunteered with a community development nonprofit in El Paso, Texas.
JEANNE CAMPBELL, FINANCIAL + ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
After several years in banking Jeanne joined the Clayton family of businesses where she established the Clayton family office, and served for 25 years as Managing Director of the Clayton Foundation. As a member of the finance team, she supports the preparation of our annual audit, federal tax returns, an other required reporting.
JEANETTE KELLEHER, VICE PRESIDENT FOR OPERATIONS
Jeanette is responsible for technology planning, including software selection and deployment and database administration. She provides primary support to the Foundation’s Investment Committee and oversees policy development, research and analysis, and special projects. She is a member of the finance team and serves as a resource for the Foundation’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Prior to joining the ETF staff, Jeanette managed the City of Knoxville’s community development programs.
JAN ELSTON, VICE PRESIDENT FOR COMPETITIVE GRANT PROGRAMS
Jan is responsible for all aspects of the Foundation’s competitive grantmaking programs, such as the Arts Fund of East Tennessee, Mount Rest Fund, and the Youth Endowment and helps to coordinate the grantmaking activity of all the regional affiliates. Jan develops grant applications and guidelines, provides technical assistance to potential applicants, supports the volunteers who serve on grants panels to evaluate proposals, and works with grantees to ensure the successful completion of their funded project. Prior to joining ETF, Jan worked as an urban planner and later as a nonprofit program director.
JACKIE SLAGLE, FINANCIAL + ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Jackie provides critical support as a member of our finance team. Jackie is a graduate of Western Governors University with a bachelor's in business management. Her career includes twenty years as office manager/administrative assistant to the president of Cornerstone Foundation and seven years prior at the City of Knoxville.
DEBORAH PHILLIPS, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT + OFFICE MANAGER
Deborah manages our CEO’s schedule and our facility, including coordinating use of our training room for our nonprofit partners’ board retreats. She has a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in Education, and many years of experience working and volunteering with schools, churches, and food pantries.
DEANENE CATANI, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Deanene oversees all public relations and marketing efforts. She produces ETF’s newsletters and press releases, manages our website, coordinates use of social media, and acts as staff liaison for special events. She works closely with the entire ETF team to present the message and mission in every area of the Foundation's work. Deanene brings a wealth of marketing and fundraising experience from her work at US Cellular, Knoxville News Sentinel, News Sentinel Charities, University of Tennessee Medical Center, and the Diocese of Knoxville.
CAROLYN SCHWENN, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT + SECRETARY
Since 1989, Carolyn has been responsible for overseeing East Tennessee Foundation’s daily activity and operations. From payroll to preparation of the audit and tax returns to implementing the Foundation’s investment management plan, Carolyn oversees all of the administrative and financial activity. Carolyn has been instrumental in developing and maintaining the accounting and data management systems that ensure complete and accurate corporate records. She has implemented policies and procedures to safeguard the Foundation’s assets and guide its staff. With her encyclopedic knowledge of the Foundation’s operations, Carolyn frequently serves as a resource to donors, board members, and staff.
BETH HELLER, VICE PRESIDENT FOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
Beth, who has extensive experience in college financial aid and in social work, oversees the Foundation’s scholarship program. She works with donors in establishing scholarship guidelines, coordinates all aspects of the application and selection process for the Foundation’s many scholarship funds, assists applicants, works with guidance counselors and administrators to create awareness of ETF scholarship opportunities.
ASHLEY SIFERD, PROGRAM OFFICER
Ashley provides support as a member of the program team. She manages the competitive grant process for affiliate funds and assists the Vice President for Competitive Grant Programs with field-of-interest fund grantmaking. She also assists the Vice President for Scholarship Programs in the scholarship application process. Prior to joining the ETF team, Ashley worked in communications and special events with Cancer Support Community East Tennessee.
