OPPORTUNITY FUND

The single largest source of frustration at East Tennessee Foundation is the inability to respond in a timely and meaningful fashion to important needs and opportunities we see in our 25-county service area. To be sure, increasing flexible resources is essential to helping us fulfill our mission of using thoughtful giving to make communities stronger and lives better in East Tennessee. You may ask, and rightly so, what is an Opportunity Fund and why should I have any interest in contributing to it?

The Opportunity Fund, an unrestricted endowment, is the only fund we have at our disposal for the purpose of addressing crucial issues and responding to opportunities as they arise in our communities. All of the other funds under our administrative umbrella are restricted for a specific purpose. The Opportunity Fund allows strategic delivery of charitable dollars where even a small amount of financial assistance will have its greatest benefit to East Tennessee
