AFFILIATE: Fund for Greene County (An affiliate is an East Tennessee Foundation designated fund for Greene County that is created and governed by a local advisory board.)

Created in 1994 as a way to maintain the legacies of Greene County, FGC gives donors a way to connect their giving with local nonprofits, public agencies and compelling charitable causes. The FGC, established as a permanent endowment, provides an on-going resource to fund programs and projects that create opportunities and address challenges for all citizens in Greene County.

INFO: With the goal of improving the quality of life of Greene County residents, the Fund for Greene County (FGC) serves as Greene County's own community foundation. Financial resources are collected and distributed throughout Greene County by FGC. Monies raised by FGC benefit only Greene County and its citizens.

GRANTS PROGRAM: FGC is not currently awarding grants from its competitive grants program. Please check back soon.

OTHER: ETF scholarships and competitive grant programs are also available to Greene county residents and organizations. Specific scholarships for Greene County include the following:

  • Coach Jack Blair Scholarship DEADLINE: Friday, February 22, 2008: For team members of Greeneville High School Lady Devil's basketball team
  • Karolyn King Carter Scholarship DEADLINE: Friday, February 22, 2008: For graduating seniors of Greeneville High School planning to major in fine arts, commercial arts, or media arts
  • Fund for Greene County Scholarship DEADLINE: Friday, February 22, 2008 for graduating seniors from Greenville High School, West Greene High School, North Greene School, South Greene High School, Chuckey-Doak High School or Greene County residents with GED

Grants Awarded from ETF to benefit Greene County

  • Since 1992, East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) awarded $58,608,949 in grants to organizations located in Greene County.
  • In addition, the Foundation holds endowments for the benefit of the following organizations in the county: Greeneville Arts Council, Little Theatre of Greeneville, Nathanael Greene Museum, United Way of Greene County, YMCA of Greene County.
  • Greene County has also benefited from many more ETF grants made on a regional basis or to organizations located in other counties that have directly served Greene County.
