Grants Awarded from ETF to benefit Monroe County

AFFILIATE: John D. Grubb & Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County (An affiliate is an East Tennessee Foundation designated fund for Monroe County that is created and governed by a local advisory board.)
INFO: In 1998, John D. Grubb and his sister Louise G. Sumner, made a permanent charitable endowment to establish the Fund for Monroe County.
Two programs were set up within the fund to meet the broad needs of the county. The first, a scholarship program, to help secure advanced educational opportunities for students and the second, a general grantmaking program to leave a philanthropic legacy dedicated to improving the lives of residents of Monroe County.

Monroe County students are eligible to apply for the following 3 scholarships (Please click on application for deadline information):
Craighead Limestone Scholarship: for graduating seniors from Sequoyah High School
John D. Grubb and Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County: for students from any Monroe County high school planning to attend Hiwassee College
Ruby A. Brown Memorial Scholarship: for public health nurses or public health nursing students
