Johnson County Community Foundation Awards $6,000 in Support of Johnson County Organizations

Four area organizations have received grant awards

EAST TENNESSEE - The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCF), an Affiliate Fund of East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), announces the recipients of the 2010 Johnson County Community Foundation Grants Program. Four area organizations have received grant awards totaling $6,000 to support programs and projects to improve the community. A reception was held for all grant recipients on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Johnson County Board of Education.

The awarded projects include endeavors that build community goodwill, seek to solve community challenges and produce results improving the quality of life for all citizens of Johnson County. Grantee organizations are located within and/or serve Johnson County and are tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations or other exempt entities.

The recipient organizations are as follows: Girls on the Run of Northeast Tennessee, Inc.; Heritage Hall, Inc.; Johnson County Arts Council; Johnson County Education Growth Scholarship Fund; and Johnson County High School. For further grant recipient information, please see provided list.

Created by a group of Johnson County residents in 2001 to serve the people of their beloved county, the Foundation gives donors a way to connect their giving with local nonprofits, public agencies and compelling charitable causes. JCF, established as a permanent endowment, provides an on-going resource to fund endeavors creating opportunities and addressing challenges for all Johnson County citizens.

East Tennessee Foundation, established in 1986, is a regional community foundation serving 25 counties in East Tennessee. With the mission of enriching lives and strengthening communities, ETF administers 12 affiliate funds, including JCF.
