As many Leadership Union County alumni know, the program's mission is to help identify opportunities, challenges, develop strategies, and provide resources to achieve community goals. The 2010 Leadership Union County (LUC) class has taken on a class project many perceived as unattainable. This class of 12 diversified and dedicated Union County residents, with the help of Ms. Terry Holley, Senior VP for Program and Regional Development of the East Tennessee Foundation, has established the Union County Community Foundation.

With the goal of improving the quality of life of Union County residents, the Union County Community Foundation (UCCF) serves as Union County's own community foundation. Financial resources are collected and distributed throughout Union County by UCCF. Monies raised in Union County stay in Union County to benefit only Union County and its citizens.

The Union County Community Foundation supports programs and projects in the county by awarding grants to various nonprofit organizations and public agencies. One project for which the 2010 LUC is laying the foundation is the Union County Community Center, a meeting and program facility that will be sustainable and multifunctional with all purpose rooms, outdoor facilities, and a commercial kitchen.

The 2010 LUC class is asking for your support in making a difference in Union County with your tax deductible donation. Your generous contribution will provide for scholarship programs, economic development programs to help create new and improved employment opportunities, parks, greenways, community centers, preservation endeavors, and projects serving youth.
