Responding to Devastating Tornadoes in Tennessee

 Making the Best Use of Resources To Enrich Lives and Strengthen Communities

The reports of the devastation and loss that have resulted from recent storms and tornadoes in Tennessee are emerging each day as the rescue and relief efforts continue. In an effort to contribute to the humanitarian relief endeavors in middle and west Tennessee, East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) is publishing a special edition of Donor's Spotlight.

Organizations listed represent opportunities for an immediate response to assist those with losses due to the storms. East Tennessee Cares - Storm Recovery Fund of East Tennessee Foundation will offer donors the option of contributing to more long-term recovery efforts. Community foundations have a distinct role to play through ongoing relations with grantees, a long-term perspective, flexibility and their positioning to implement strategic grantmaking for rebuilding. The Foundation can make a significant contribution by meeting critical long-term needs and by reaching isolated communities that may not have adequate access to assistance.

Ways to Give:

• Donations can be made directly to the funds and organizations listed below.
• You may prefer to make a grant from your donor advised fund by completing the necessary forms. ETF will ensure the receipt of your gift to the organization of your choosing. Please contact ETF to obtain the appropriate forms.
• East Tennessee Cares - Storm Recovery Fund - Working through local agencies with long-term recovery efforts.

East Tennessee Cares - Storm Recovery Fund of East Tennessee Foundation

Established by the generous gifts of donors, this newly created fund at East Tennessee Foundation will work through local agencies in the areas affected by natural disasters to address long-term recovery efforts. The new fund will make grants and work collectively with local non-profit organizations to respond to the needs of communities and families devastated by the series of tornadoes that swept across middle and west Tennessee.  Please contact Terry Holley for more information at (865) 524-1223 or via e-mail at tholley@etf.org.
