John D. Grubb and Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County Scholarship

  • Purpose and History: Originally established in 1999 by John Grubb and Louise Sumner to provide scholarships to Hiwassee students and Hiwassee graduates going on to a 4-year college or university. The scholarship has been expanded to include any Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accredited public or private, non-profit college or university in Tennessee.
  • Scholarship Amount: $2,000 per year award for 4 years
  • Eligibility Requirements:
    • Residency Requirement: Monroe County
    • Education Requirement: Graduates of a Monroe County High School, graduating seniors or current college students
    • Field of Study: Not Applicable
    • GPA Requirement: 2.5
    • College/Enrollment Requirement: Full-time enrollment at Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accredited public or private, non-profit college or university in Tennessee or Hiwassee College
    • Must demonstrate financial need
