Dr. J.G. Hawkins Memorial Fund

The Dr. J.G. Hawkins Memorial Fund was established in 2011 to support and provide medically-related transportation and traveling clinical services for under-served rural residents of Greene County, TN. Grant funds will also support traveling clinical or other services which bring doctors or other medical professionals on a temporary or intermittent basis to under-served rural areas of Greene County for the purpose of providing care and treatment of residents of those areas, especially children.

Application Process

  • $53,600 was available to award
  • Two-year grants were awarded summer 2018

Who May Apply

General Eligibility and Funding Criteria

Additional eligibility criteria specific to the Dr. J.G. Hawkins Memorial Fund:

  • Projects must exclusively benefit Greene County residents
  • Organizations must propose a project that will support and provide medically-related transportation to underprivileged rural residents of Greene County or
  • Organizations must propose a project that will bring traveling clinical/medical services to under-served rural areas of Greene County on a temporary or intermittent basis
  • Organizations are not required to reside in Greene County in order to be eligible to apply
